rrman, Yep, people at work think I am some kind of financial wizard as well, when all I have done is listen to people who hang out here (including you), following up with my own research. Most people are a bit nervous handling money, so they just follow the BS in the media because it is presented in a manner that makes them trust it. Becoming a reflexive skeptic rather than a reflexive believer is difficult, but worth it. I do not think that all Americans are the same. The beautiful - and tragic - truth about America is its constant cultural and economic churn. The Worldcoms and Enrons decay, and make mulch in which strong companies can grow. There is no loss of fortitude, only a changing of the guard.

rman, I thought this was the no clowns thread. You r full of it. Sure our American administrations have made many diplomatic mistakes. But we have saved Europes asses twice from Germanies crap and then the crap in Yugoslavia. We are generous with other aid in time of need also. As far as being fat and lazy sure you are right, but who cares cuz we can still whip ass when necessary. You must have forgotten the sleeping giant. We are far from perfect but better than most. So rile us up, as an American and not always proud, I can still say when the chips are down we can all hang together and get the job done so come on to poppa if you got the cajones, or possibly just handle it yourself you make the call big boy.
