That's the problem with historical valuations as a guide. If the market as a whole continues to slide, nothing, absolutely nothing will keep AMAT and others from making new historical lows. And folks will continue to pile on with the rational that the the P/B is such and such.

Brian, I'm not sure that it is useful to compare price to BV ratios of AMAT to software companies. I do agree that AMAT is a much better value than CSCO based on future earnings.
