I bashed the WSJ show, so let me give it some credit where it is due. The host, who sort of plays the contrarian to give the panel a chance to tee off on him, mentioned this. He said that the German politicians are simply reflecting the will of their people. He said this several times. Of course, the idea of a government reflecting the will of the people was a concept totally foreign to the panelists, so they just ignored him.
