FOMC meeting rallies

I call them the "it's not our fault the market is down" or "everybody loves the Fed" rallies. Blameless they are.

Here's the recent history.

Jan 30...bounce on 1/30, high on 1/31
Mar 19...no bounce
May 7...rally starts 5/8, high on 5/15, a major top
Jun 26...bounce on 6/26, high on 6/28
Aug 13...rally starts 8/14, high on 8/22, a major top
Sep 24...
Nov 6...
Dec 10...

4 out of 5 meetings so far this year were followed by higher closes, 2 modest bounces and 2 decent rallies. Some amount of engineering is suspected by yours truly.

Donald expects to see his short-term technicals in the midrange prior to FOMC meetings. I don't think this has held up well over the last year and that his readings have been toward the low end more often. I'd like him to look into this.

Jorj, since he is also concerned about talking the market down, I expect that he buries in his gibberish a bias of risk towards the downside but nothing more. let's call it "watch negative".
