"You a bow and arrow type?"

Yup, for nearly two decades. I hope to return to it if I can rehabilitate my knee enough to face the rigors of camping & hunting in the manner I have in the past. I own a Browning compound bow with 65% let off, set @ 85lbs. I'm pretty good at anything from 50 yards in (4-5 inch pattern consistently when taking 4 consecutive shots at the same distance). Practice, practice, practice.

"Any vacation without phones, tv or other links to the outside world has got to be relaxing."

Uh oh, I think I'm going to let you down :-(

I didn't say no tv or radio <gg>. I have an RCA 13" color tv that works with ac or dc power & has a pretty decent long distance antenna. We'd only use it to get weather forecasts & to watch Monday night football....... and for a spell there, my Pirates were regulars in the post season too. However, the tube mostly sat with a blank screen.

The radio was there for the tunes (tapes & cd's or a classic rock station). It was off more than it was on as well, unless the weather kept us in camp. I get into music almost as much as I get into the great outdoors. Since time was always a scarce commodity, I found nothing wrong with mixing music with camping to enhance my R&R.

Oh, and the cell phone also made an appearance the last few years....... but it was for outgoing calls only (call in football picks - let the better half know all is OK, etc.)....... a convenience thing as we were miles from a pay phone.
