Oh my gosh - thank God I have no work today - been at this all day and obviously I don't have a clue. All that file and print sharing is on. This was the last place I was at and got a bit further:
homenethelp.com
Followed those directions by adding the NetBeui

Now, when I go to add printer in My Network I can actually see the printer from the other computer listed there (could not before) but it says under it "printer not found on server...unable to connect". When I try to use the wizard it says it can't find the printer. Note: I have allowed the share option on the printer in control panel on the 98 pc.

I also tried adding a new folder on the 98pc and made it a "shared" folder (followed their directions). Put a file in this folder to see if I could access it via the other computer and I couldn't

Update: I'm getting there! I just found this:Firewalls
Double check to make sure you’re your software firewall is disabled if you have one. By default, most personal firewalls will block any kind of file sharing traffic.

I disabled BlackIce on my 98pc and now I got the file share to work. I can access the c drive from the 98 to the XP. Still can't seem to get the printer to share but am working on it!
