Whopper of the day from that Guardian story:

Largely as a result of American pressure, criticisms of Israel in security council resolutions also tend to be softer than the criticisms of other countries for similar offences.

Wowee, what a tale! I suppose it's even true in its fashion, because there is ALWAYS a resolution against Israel but ALMOST NEVER a resolution against any other country for far worse, let alone "similar" offenses. Go look at the UN record of resolutions against China for conquering Tibet, or the USSR for invading Afghanistan, or the Rwandan genocide, or the bloody Algerian civil war. Tell me if you find any. I dare anybody to identify the actual "similar situations" with the harsher resolutions.
