Bottom line: I think the lady was out of line with what she did, but after raising two, its hard to be a parent, and a child.

I feel the same. I had belt marks on my legs at time when I was a child. I don't think it was right but I don't know where I would be today had I not been corrected manually many times.

I can't believe the news coverage on this.....I guess that is a pretty good sign things are pretty calm.....around these United States.

Murrey, my dad was an Iron worker........ sometimes his tool belt had an alternative use....... and sitting without pain was not an option for the recipient of that alternate use.

I agree the lady was out of line..... so was dad sometimes IMVHO...... but that stuff was fairly accepted back in those days. Still, those who spare the rod & spoil the child aren't exactly doing the child any favors either.

IMO, the child doesn't learn much other than they can get away with lots of stuff & mom & dad will protect them whether they are good or bad.

I guess taking the middle road isn't an option in much anymore 'eh?
