The last time D. Rumsfield saw S. Hussein, he gave him a cordial handshake. The date was almost 20 years ago, Dec. 20, 1983; an official Iraqi television recorded the historic moment.

And I'm sure FDR gave Stalin a handshake, and any number of American politicians have given hand shakes to Yassir Arafat. Politicians deal with slime around the world. If you don't have a specific reason to be hostile you act politely even though they are slime. That's just the way international relations works.


Tim, it would seem you didn't read the entire article. If you do, you will see the relationship went beyond a handshake.
