I am unaware of any movement by mentally retarded people against the SO. I'm aware of the anti-SO feelings of some of the same non-retarded faction that has objected to the retarded people who live in my daughter's residence being called, first, 'patients,' and then after 'patients' became un-PC, 'clients,' and in the last couple of years, since 'clients' has become un-PC, 'consumers.' Yes, the staff is now required to say things like, "Her wheelchair has to be kept away from the other consumers' because she pulls their hair." I assume the person in that picture is real. I assume she didn't consent to have her picture used that way. That's a new point, and a good one, and I accept it. It shouldn't have been used that way without the permission of a person with the right to give it.
