Our very existence threatens fundamentalists. As long as we are here, making movies, television, internet content, music they cannot control their populations because people will choose what we have over what they have - given the choice.

Yes, there is ever greater clarity. For example, the Palestinians were on the verge of a deal that would have given them most of what they ostensibly wanted, and put aside resolution of all questions concerning Jerusalem for future negotiations. Arafat walked away from it, and the second Intafada started. In other words, the latest round of violence originated not out of oppression, but as a negotiating ploy........
