Like X, I did not know that. You, however, did know that my attempt was simply to make you cut out the cruel stuff and rejoin the conversation. You wrote this. Note that it was about my imagined reaction, not anyone else's: I can just imagine E's reaction if I had posted the joke. Actually, it would probably exceed my ability to imagine. X wrote this, in response to your baseless and erroneous hypothesis about my reaction: I imagine there would have been talk of drumming you off SI. Or something like that. But of course, that is jsut imagination :-) I therefore reminded you both of what I had, in reality, done. What anyone else did is immaterial to the above exchange, and since X didn't know it either, if it is true, her remark to the effect that my response would have been to do that was a gratuitous exercise in snideness.
