Ted Sorenson could write a very good speech, and Kennedy was a master at delivering it. "Gore the Bore" is a good summation for his speeches. I can handle Bush's better now, he is doing well at delivering the big, formal ones. The "Buzz" boys on TV were of the opinion that Gore went left to energize his base, like you. :^) Hard to know if he was cynical or not. I suspect he is very conflicted on this subject. He had to support Clinton on Saddam the last time. I think Bush really believes he is doing the right thing. Carl Rove may crow about the Politics, but I don't think that was the reason it has played out the way it has. We will have to wait for the memoirs to know.
