<< PA has no other recourse to insist on 1967 borders based on simple chart of number of Israeli settlers on West BAnk >>

Put yourself in Israel's position in 1967. Israel had been attacked by terrorists from the West Bank for decades, prior to 1967. The world recognized this, in 1967, by passing UN Security Council Resolution 242 that legitimized Israel's call for "secure borders."

There can be no doubt that, if Israel goes back to the pre-1967 borders, it will allow the terrorists better access to attack Israel. Going back to the pre-1967 borders will not result in peace for Israel, only more terror attacks, and possibly Israel's destruction. So.... it's not a good choice, is it?

Israel does not have a peace partner. The Palestinians want to destroy Israel. It is hard to negotiate with that Palestinian goal into a peace treaty.

<< Only thing I know is that things have to get worse for both sides before things will get better. >>

Things are getting much worse for the Palestinian side right now, and better for Israel, since the terrorist attacks have subsided.
