Simple delete/ignore seems to be the best you can do.

I use "Hotmail" and the filter doesn't work as well as it used to. I get as much junk in my personal mail as I do in my Junk Mail. It is increasing becoming a problem, as I filter through and try not to delete mail I want.

I used to occasionally have days where I went through it and tried the "take me off this list" links, but that never did any good, maybe made things worse.

I've long suspected that going through the motions of "unsubscribing" or "opting out" of SPAM just makes things worse, because it affirms that you are READING their crap. Nice way to build verified mailing lists.

For those of us that are as vindictive as I am, you can report the bastards to the FTC directly at uce@ftc.gov. Just forward the offending spam, make sure it forwards the full headers of the email.
