Hemm? Why is this stock not pushing towards $10 instead?

Of course, PCS continues to maintain that they will have a working system early next year.

I'll believe it when I see it, but even if they do Nextel will have nationwide Direct Connect up and running and hopefully Boost Mobile offering services to consumers on a much larger scale. If PCS (or anyone else for that matter) cannot match Nextel's nationwide DC coverage and connection speed their PTT will be a failure and only seed the market for Nextel. I agree with you that without more details from PCS, PTT is difficult to handicap, but those same lack of details yield apprehension regarding an '03 coast to coast launch. In light of recent occurrences PCS management has certainly lost credibility predicting future events.

Regarding data, I don't know a sole currently paying for unlimited internet laptop access either with Nextel, PCS or Verizon. I would love to remotely connect to the internet with a laptop at 56kps or higher for my business but I'm not willing to pay for both landline and mobile access. When I can get reliable 56 kbs or higher unlimited integrated PC and laptop access for a reasonable price I'll disconnect my landline. Maybe someday Nextel will offer this service via Flarion. Or maybe that's pie in the sky like PCS PTT!

The FCC spectrum swap is going to happen, IMO. Most likely some sort of negotiated settlement, but a sure positive for Nextel. Doing nothing is not an alternative and Nextel has offered a reasonable solution to solve the problem. Management thinks this will happen before the end of the year.

Have you seen anything about any new Nextel handsets? I could see a handset with an integrated camera doing pretty well for a segment of their business users.

There are a few folks on the Yahoo club thread that seem to have a pretty good handle on handsets. Check it out:
