Corporate America has shown repeatedly they are incapable of governing themselves. They are too driven by greed and the allmighty dollar to do the right thing.

I'm far less concerned about a middle eastern extremist overunning America than I am with the current economic and corporate messes we have. As a matter of fact, I think the so called war on Iraq is nothing more than a political move to keep media and people's interests focused abroad than the economic mess in America.

Good points, Gemini. The government is protected from failure by its ability to tax. Big business is protected from failure by the laws that our government pass. Citizens are reliant upon a strong and continued need for labor. Take away our jobs and we lose our protection AND our ability to pay taxes. Guess where our government will turn then? To big business of course. It is a survival of the fittest.

And suddenly it is making incredible sense why 3 years ago the European banking families and the banks they represent began hoarding gold like there was no tomorrow. . . leading to the question, "what did they know or think they knew"?
