Am unclear as to your point, Karen....

Your remarks below.

Bush said he wouldn't interfere with states rights issues. You say he hasn't interfered with CA's plans to go ahead with stem cell research.
You say he is opposed to stem cell research. (free country to voice opposition, isn't it?)
So what is the problem????

Bush said he would not interfere with states' rights, specifically, though he has voiced his vehement opposition to stem cell research, he stated hw will not interfere with CA's plans to go ahead on it.

On the issue you mentioned below....did CA arrest these people, or did the Feds? If CA arrested them, why do you think Bush could do anything about it? He already said he wouldn't interfere with states rights.

And BTW, I personally know some folks who went to a large fancy wedding in Oregon...many were Doctors who approve of medical marijuana....and laughing at the law, because it seems it is being handed out to anyone who wants it.....

I personally am for medical use only....

The only other way I'd like to see marijuana legalized is if the person signed a statement saying he/she would be personally responsible for ALL costs incurred to society that happened while using the weed. (i.e. theft, murder, kidnapping, etc...) If that person used, and didn't have the funds to repay society, then I think it should be a One Strike, You're Out...and to jail for that person. He/She could work off the debt in prison.

However, he said nothing September 5 when state approved medical marijuana growers in Santa CRuz CA were arrested. He did not tell Ascroft to back off earlier this year when he interfered with OR state's rights.
