Every word you say is true. I have playfully trying to make that point with Cary. In wartime the politics should be less not more. Republicans hated FDR but after pearl harbor, the carping stopped. After 9/11 it stopped for awhile but resumed. Criticism is ok. What gore did was to undermine our foreign policy for political gain. The policy is to intimidate Saddam to give in on WMD by showing him the certainty of his ultimate defeat. That was the failure of Bush 41, with the uncertainty caused by the ambassador comment about kuwait. Gore undercutting Bush gives saddam some hope that US pop opionion will erode. mike
PS and if gore were president he would be doing pretty much the same as bush.
