OK, now I understand where you are coming from.

The Nazis claimed to be Pagans. But they were born and raised in Europe, which is a Christian area. It had been in the culture since the fall of Rome. I don't see how you can separate it out.

The Holocaust was an outcome of prior Religious belief that had instilled anti Semitism in the culture, which is still around even today. It was not an outcome of "contemporaneous religious piety." I don't have any numbers on how many Christians still believe the "Christ Killer" concept, but it is certainly still there. If they had been no Christianity, there would have been no anti-semitism.
