The only choice which might have made sense was that M was simply too unreliable for them to feel he would be able to give them good information. They preferred the symbolic character of the death penalty then.

We will never know. However, it you are trying to "Ashcroft" this, I disagree. They felt they had a "Slam Dunk" death penalty conviction, and they were not going to settle for less. I think any Prosecutor would have gone for this, Liberal, Conservative, black, white, yellow.

another thought, he not be able to add to any information from all the arrests in the past year... We do not know what has been gathered by these interrogations
