Morality is very superficial, and situationally dependent- as many studies show us. SI shows us this. The world shows us this. Most people are, at their core, more than willing to throw away all the ideals they think they value, in order to hook up with a group. I remember participating in an interesting experiment regarding that in high school. People feel they are weak alone, and strong in groups- when, imo, from an internal perspective, the exact opposite is the case. Of course you can DO more in a group, but the you, that was you, is gone. And that is true weakness, imo.

Interesting, to me at least, that some of the posters here who are most vehement about the evils of big government imposing its standards on private lives are themselves among the most vociferous in trying to impose their own standards on others here.

The difference is the government uses force, another difference is that it taxes us to pay for the force...
