Did you know that in the years prior to WWII, politicians, celebrities, civic groups, etc., & the news papers of the day were reflecting the same general attitude about Hitler that we are hearing about Saddam Hussein today?

Saddam Hussein ain't Hitler and Iraq sure ain't Germany.

Somehow I doubt you were around to read papers in the early 1930's. If so, you would have found many columns in prominent American newspapers, and even some American congressman, praising Fascism as the best form of government to clean up the political and economic messes left by the depression. It took Pearl Harbor to finally shut this crowd up. Not that this has anything to do with Hussein but before you rewrite history, you might want to read some first.

And American legends like Charles Lindberg appealed for the US to stay out of World War II only to back track later.

The new isolationists have only begun to speak.
