Except I agree with him about one point: how do you value them in a way that makes sense? (In this, God help me, I even agree with CYBERKEN.) I'm no Black or Scholes or high-powered accountant, but I can't figure out how you recognize a non-arbitrary amount that represents the decrease in shareholders' equity caused by a stock option before it's exercised. Not if the matching principle is supposed to mean anything. How is GE valuing them?
