The same way as the liberals are now trying to take away Reagan's credit for winning the Cold War. They say the Soviet Block was going to fold anyway. BTW, I lived there 18 years, and it didn't look that way to me.

History has a way of sorting things out. While liberalism may, in any given year, promote the notion that a "Howard Zinn Account" of history is accurate, over time I think the truth will ultimately shine through.

It is beyond me how anyone who witnessed the end of Cold War can conclude that Reagan wasn't the driving force behind it.

Joe, good point. I would also add that there were several victories by American intelligence that prevented many terrorist actions from occuring pre-9/11. We never hear about them, though. Only the failures come to light.
