what is the rating worth? Well, they cover themselves
The only value maybe as a contrary indicator like the buy recommendations in early 2000, Stan.

Korea's Chip Industry Posts Two Months of Deficits

sg.news.yahoo.com

SEOUL, Sept 26 Asia Pulse - The local chip industry, Korea's biggest export item, posted a trade deficit for the second month in August, mainly due to plunging DRAM chip prices, according to the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (KSIA).
Based on a report by the Korea International Trade Association, KSIA said today that the industry showed a trade loss of US$85 million in August after suffering a US$98 million deficit the previous month.

Sources said though increased exports have been offsetting the drop in prices. The current downbeat mood is expected to continue as the DRAM chip market is showing signs of slump again. The imports of parts for the IT industry is also surging.

Local chip exports rose 4.4 per cent on-month to US$1.46 billion in August, which was up 63.6 per cent compared to the same month a year ago.

"The main reason for the loss is falling export prices in the second half of the year. It is too early to predict the future outlook, but the situation could continue unless prices pick up," a KSIA official said.
