Again, partially correct, E.C. The IMF is the USA's competitive answer to the BIS "global" funding vehicle. Both organizations sound altruistic, but frankly, the BIS just wasn't believeable in the post WW2 rebuild Europe divy-up back in '43 in the Bretton Woods. In fact, if one looks at both orgs...when the little nations get tired of the USA's version of Uncle Sammy with the Mostest...it is ALWAYS the BIS they go too next. IMF is kind of like chosing between HFC and HSBC for your lender -- <g> g_t
