John. We hold ourselves out to the world as a model for others to follow. We do not run the world and should not be expected to account for all the problems in the world, but we do assert that our policy positions are based on principles that serve as a role model for other countries and we tell the world that we do not merely resort to exercising naked power in pursuit of our self-interest. IN that context it is worth asking questions about the kind of global leadership we are providing and ask about the consequences of our policies if other countries follow suit.
