We didn't become buddies with Stalin until after Germany attacked the USSR. Then we sent supplies and equipment to the Russians. Should we have not sent them anything when they where doing the most fighting, killing, and dying in the war and they where fighting against our enemy? The Iran/Iraq case is less clear, but it was thought that Iran might overrun a big chunk of Iraq and destabilize the region. And that possibility was not a fantasy it might have happened. Tim
