Karen,

I'm very serious about the evidence argument. She offered none; just assertions.

Contrast that with the Blair document. It's elegantly crafted, filled with evidence and argument and leaves one thinking deeply about the consequences. The Bush style, as evidenced by Rice, is simply, finally, to say "trust us." That, frankly, would be adequate if they had established a track record on which we could rely. But it's not. It's a record of looking for reasons to attack, floating reasons for public consumption, finding they don't work or are not true, looking for other reasons, then dropping back to attack their critics. Not a good record for an administration that wishes to take the US to war.

One of the things I've come to dislike on the thread in recent weeks is the presumption that there are camps (right-left) and the presence of those camps should be reflected in our posts. I don't deny the fact that a lot of folk think that way and some positions can be characterized that way but I regret the tendency to pigeon hole one another in public conversations.
