OK. I went back and reread the post, and I see the problem. I meant to make it clear that the "Islamist" movement has spread like a virus through Islam. You can read it the other way. That helps. I was taken aback by your post, typed out a bit more harsh response than the final draft, then decided you might have done what I do, unfortunately, rather frequently, which is type a response that is not quite what I meant. That was the reason for the typing and fingers allusion. Frankly, I don't know about the larger argument and feel very uncomfortable going there. But about the more particular argument as to whether to charge other Islamist groups with some sort of responsiblity for attacking the US on 9-11, I'm increasingly ready to discuss that seriously.
