AJ, I had no comment about the 7-10 days variance. Of course it costs more for a longer period.
As for sniping. People who snipe do nopt want anti snip rules, like an automatic extension.

If you can estimate the lag on 56K or 33K, that lag can be ten seconds more than someone on cable or ADSL, so they can turn iiside your turn.

Buyers who snipe, people like you, like the current system.
I feel it should be more like an open auction and thus there should be a period like the going going gone of a live auction. 1-2 minutes after the last bid is plenty of time for the slower people to get theiur bids in....or do you not want that because it would interfere with the sniping that is killing ebay?

Looks like you want to be able to snipe.
