There are a lot of patents out there on defensins. Using that as the search keyword, yielded 178 hits. The seminal ones appear to be based on the work of Lehrer and Selsted, and are assigned to the Regent of the UC. patft.uspto.gov patft.uspto.gov I gather you have the full subscription to Science since you know that a BioSepra column was used. Does the article describe the structure of the defensins in question? Does it look anything like the structures of the class of compounds described in the above patents? TIA & Cheers, Tuck
