Mani,

Thanks for the article. It didn't seem credible that Iran would knowingly allow Al Qaeda inside its borders.

There were numerous reports in the press about that Iran made it clear that the territory of Iran would not be allowed to be used as any kind of safe haven for fleeing Al Qaeda and Taliban, and there were also reports of some Al Qaeda / Taliban members were handed over by Iran to Afghanistan's new government.

While attacking Iran is not outside of realm of possibilities

I think thats extremely unlikely. I think Sudan gets mentioned once in a while, and there is a lot of talk of Al Qaeda inside Yemen, but there were some stories recently about Yemen arresting some Al Qaeda members, so their government must be cooperating with the US..

My guess is that the remote regions of Pakistan have the most of the remaining Al Qaeda members, and getting them is going to be extremely difficult.

It would be nice if the Bin Laden mystery got finally solved, because getting him, or proving that he is dead would convince many of the former Al Qaeda die-hards to just go back home.

Joe

Joe, Ted, here is the report:
story.news.yahoo.com.

Joe is right about Iran and Al Qaeda not having much in common. The camp is reported to be in remote regions.

While attacking Iran is not outside of realm of possibilities, I don't think something like this would trigger it.

Mani, they reported it on the news again tonite.......apparently, NBC learned that troops have been deployed to that area but they are on the Afghanistan side.

I was not intending to suggest that Iran is working with al Qaeda and I apologize for misspeaking.......I meant to say "Iran may be next", and not, "it looks like Iran is next". However, either way that's pure speculation on my part.
