It's not hard to score logical points against people who aren't motivated by logical but by their negative emotions.

Another example is the claim by some of the anti-American crowd, that the US put Saddam in power (a lie) and gave him his WMD's (also a lie). Now if the people putting forward these lies really believed them, wouldn't they therefore logically want the US to remedy the situation by getting rid of their creation (Saddam and his WMD's)? Of course, they would if they actually believed the lies they spread. But they don't.
