OT> Greenlaw, nearly all recording contracts are pitiful, since every dollar of an recording advance must be paid back to the record company. . . and many artists ignore this fact and splurge what they THINK is record company money. . . when in fact it is theirs to be paid back over time. But you are right. Kelly's contract is bad. But the runner's up contracts are the ones that are really terrible. They tour the country making numerous TV appearances, selling tons of tickets and millions in advertising. . .and nearly all monies go to the producers and directors of the show. And unlike Kelly, when this tour ends and the next Idol show begins, they are left with nothing. . . much like the runners up in the Survivor series.
