Regarding Merced, I'm using it as the name for the IA-64 architecture family chips, like hammer for Athlon-64, Opteron, whatever the mobile version is called, etc. So, whatever the current hammer is vs. whatever the current merced is was the issue to consider. Let me know if you have a more convenient shorthand, or do you insist on typing "whatever the current hammer is vs. whatever the current merced is?"
