Exactly. Most of the deficit

is <off budget> already. Per your post: 400B vs the publicly reported 125B.

What a charade?!

And we haven't even begun to plumb the enormous costs the <Forever War> is generating to balloon the phoney numbers they report now.

But....what ho?!

How convenient for future budget magic?! More than a few of these huge expenditure increases fall into the same national security categories that are kept secret and/or off budget already.

A little background to all this is worth repeating, folks. Every time we touch on an issue of government deception and the trend toward less and less accountability, remember this...

It became far easier to extend gov influence/control over media ownership that's become highly concentrated after 15 yrs of mega mergers. So, it can hardly be a surprise that the media is providing increasingly effective cover for a ruling elite that extends across BOTH political parties on the D.C./W.S. power axis.

And, as each successive administration - regardless of party - increases and concentrates government power in the executive branch, the antics of the major congressional parties become less and less relevant. Think about it. With so little turnover among incumbents, campaign and election antics are one of several recurring media side shows to entertain, occupy and divert public attention.

Meanwhile, the W.S./D.C. elite axis concentrates it's power and deals with the real issues of power and empire, shielded from public scrutiny and accountability by a captive and complicit media establishment.

The growing "reality gap" between reported and actual gov deficits would is one of MANY issues we're likely to hear less and less about in coming years.

Gads lads! Time's a flyin'. Better get back to work.

later~
