If the Taliban were a fifth-rate military power, why didn't the Clinton-Gore administration destroy it and spare us Sept. 11?

Kauthammer was pissed in that column, not reasonable, I will give you that. However, I think "Puty-pute's" interview about it, that Krauthammer quotes, is telling. He was surprised that Clinton did so little after the Embassy bombings and the Cole. I think our lack of response was a contributing factor to 911.

I don't know if Clinton would have done anything anyway, but I think he was distracted by his Domestic problems and afraid of the "Wag the Dog" accusations. OLook at how Bush is catching hell for "playing politics" with Iraq right now. I think it is "Fair comment" that Clinton should have tried to do more to get Bin Ladin.

Overall, on Gore's speech, it was a bit much, I think. I will await your comments on Hitchen's column and the Missouri political situation.
