Al,

We don't go to war and kill civilians to avenge a failed attempt on a US president

It may be ok with YOU, that someone attempts to assassinate the President of the United States with impunity, but it is not ok with me. It says a lot about you, BTW.

And it is sad that it takes his son to point this out to us, and that most of us have actually forgot about it.

Joe

Old news....should have done something then, not years later.

What is a nation to do? We screw up and elect an incompetent who, unfortunately, is with us for eight long years. Now, the incompetent is gone, replaced by a strong leader.

Does Saddam just "get away with it" because he had the good sense to make his attempt when a weakling is in office?

What does this say to future dictators who want to assassinate American leaders? Just be careful to do it on a Democrat's watch? Is this the kind of example you want to set?
