I could see being very proactive in terms of monitoring their safety and maintenance procedures and records but I don't like the idea of government forcing mergers. Forcing a shutdown because of sloppy maintenance or encouraging a merger in unusual circumstances wouldn't bother me as much.

Tim, the airlines are bleeding billions in red ink. Would you consider that unusual circumstances given that they have a history of boom/bust?

Tim, have you noticed that the number of daily postings on the Mod thread has dropped off a lot? If so, do you know when that happened? I just noticed it today.

I wonder if its because of IHub; if that's siphoning posters away.
