Since I don't care much about explanations to begin with, I'm not the one to comment on that. And I always figure most explanations are somewhat false anyway, since all people tend to exaggerate in ways they find congenial to their idea of themselves, regardless of what actually happened. As you already mentioned with witnesses to things, perceptions and accounts are highly unreliable. Speaking of which, I'm going to go watch Rashomon again. What a great movie that is.
