I reccomend that book When Genius Failed -- not because I think it is a completely accurate retelling of what happened, but because it does have a number of useful insights into how they operated and what brough them down -- it was worth the read. It also tells you how stupid the banks can be -- I don't believe it is inaccurate on those counts.
