The U.S. as a superpower will demand tribute, whether in the form of trade consessions or outright money there will be a "need" to help the superpower pay the police bills. This will eventually wear thin on those paying. It always has in the past, and the remains of those past empires are still poorer and less influential than their neighbors, after the neighbors see their chance.
