I am not nearly as optimistic as you are about the prospect of peace with Sharon at the helm in Israel. I am not supporting Arafat, but Sharon is part of the problem and not part of a solution.

So you want to wait until the violence has exhausted itself before any attempts at negotiation are attempted? After 35 years of occupation, I would figure that most sensible Jews can figure out that a pure military solution in resolving this conflict is a great marketing campaign but deeply unrealistic. But hey, self-deceit and denial seem to be a recurring theme running in the Mideast whether one is an Arab or an Israeli.
