After watching the Elvis Presley documentary tonight, I am convinced that our seach for excellence in management should begin with some singular personality in top management. These successful people tend to start young. Victor Borge. Bruce Jenner( had to tie him to a rope to keep him from running wild as a youngun). Sally Fields.The Kennedy family, the Bush family They get the required action worked into their souls. The son of Ross Perot. Sam Walton. MacArthur, and his father, and his grandfather all in the US Military. And who is that wild Englishman that owns Virgin airlines and flies balloons.? ( I am interrupted here to listen to an Irish group at the Grand Old Opry, who have been together 40 years- Hey, if it works, dont change it.) And this all brings me to the one of the best- Michael Dell himself , who started pretty young, considering the complexity of the machines involved. Companies come to Dell, and beg them to provide this or that new product or improvement because they know they will get the best for less if Dell will build it. Maybe you can find some other ones - personalities. If in for the long haul, it seems no time to give up on Walmart or on Dell. For my own holdings, ALLY is looking Bally here, with many new machines, staying ahead of the game, getting a major contract, and now being at an Expo from Tuesday through Thurs. prn.newscom.com Regards Sig
