Hi Snowshoe; Re: "You do not "buy" naked options, you sell them short." Some people use "naked" with respect to any option position that is not hedged by an underlying security (or another option position). For example see: optionsearcher.com I don't recall anyone going to jail for insider trading the plane hijackings, and I firmly believe that I would have heard of it if it had happened. So I'm wondering about the veracity of the news. A hell of a lot of investors have been short this market collapse. For example, I put out a recommendation to short CSCO, INTC, MU, TXN, ALTR, and XLNX (tech stocks) just a week before the hijackings: #reply-16304424 Those stocks were way overvalued and have come down, but are still fairly overvalued. -- Carl
