Hi LindyBill; No seriously, what if the terrorists were asking for something less complete than a total surrender of the United States. Would you negotiate with them then?

Note that what you would do really doesn't matter much. The historical fact is that when pain exceeds prize all nations negotiate. This is human behavior. If you want to go into denial, and claim that you'd be willing to fight to the death, well have it your way, but most of the rest of us aren't going to party with you, LOL.

The British negotiated with the IRA. the US negotiated with the Viet Cong. The Israelis regularly negotiate with the Palestinians. The Sri Lankans negotiate with the Tamil Tigers. The US negotiated with Japan. The US negotiated with the Phillipino rebels. The US negotiated with the Algerian pirates. The US negotiated with the CSA. The USSR negotiated with the Afghan mujahedin. The US negotiated with the Pathet Lao. The US negotiated with the various Indian tribes (whose only form of war would now be pretty much classed as war).

Negotiations are as universal as war. So tell me again that you wouldn't negotiate. I want to hear how different you are.
