Well, it's already starting to look like a fizzer. Not even the real stuff - just some fake stuff. Do Turks have a sense of humour [driving around with a lead box marked 'Radioactive' but really just a bunch of yellow dyed lead in it]? I'll wait and see what develops, but the 'weapons grade' seems to be rapidly degrading with a half life of an hour or so. Mq

Lindy, sure enough, buried in some back pages was a tiny item [following a large news story a day or so ago] that there was only 140 grams of uranium [or maybe it was just somewhat radioactive material]. But the lead container was quite heavy and could definitely kill if dropped from a height. What a fizzer. What a joke! So, will we get details of who, what, where, when, how and why? I wonder if it'll turn out to be some stolen hospital cobalt or something for radiation treatment. If uranium, it obviously wasn't going to contribute much towards blowing up the USA as part of a Weapon of Mass Destruction. Meanwhile, that great freedom fighter Gerry Adams, supported financially and no doubt in other ways by naive, ignorant, stupid, cruel, Catholic "Irish" hyphenated-Americans drifting on a sea of confusion about their identity, has been accused of being directly implicated in 1973 bombings and murder including of a mother of 10 who was allegedly an 'informer'. Of course he virulently denies it, while apologizing for acts of murder and mayhem; a cynical strategy to keep the cash flowing from said ignorant and stupid Catholic Irish American terrorist supporters now that a bit of a problem in the Twin Towers has shown that terrorism isn't necessarily all that good an idea. I get some solace from the probability that at least one of the said ignorant and stupid Catholic Irish American financial supporters of the IRA was buried in the WTC collapse. I hope there were many of them - [which I know is just a sad fantasy and in fact it was crowds of happy and innocent people going about their creative, constructive lives]. Remember Omagh, the Tower of London and many murders between; directly funded by American supporters of the IRA. Greenpeace has protested - you will recall that the French state terrorists of that international criminal Mitterand [happily dead and gone and good riddance] bombed and sank "The Rainbow Warrior" in Auckland harbour, 300 metres from where the America's Cup boats are in the Viaduct Basin and they will pass 100 metres or so from the bombing location en route to the races. Will "Areva" suffer the same fate [excluding any injury or loss of life] as it nears the finishing line if it makes it to the finals? It would not be Greenpeace style [they have welcomed the Areva team with excellent Kiwi hospitality - one of our daughters is a Greenpeace supporter and she would not be happy with any malevolence], but I would understand the wish for utu and would not be surprised. It would be richly ironical if Osama's mob uses what is obviously a great photo opportunity to blow up the race and got the "Areva". We've been importing lots of Moslem 'refugees' and they have some sympathy with Osamaism [having had discussion with a Pashtun taxi-driver] so I imagine there are some people here who would deliver some ammonium nitrate, diesel fuel etc in a boat, right into the Viaduct Basin. Maybe two or three boats, to get the tv cameras rolling. Larry Ellison's beautiful boat [ship] "Katana" is moored in the Viaduct Harbour, along with many other huge and beautiful boats. It's a perfect setting.
