Context is everything. Well almost

It sure is for polls. Everybody who has observed politics for more than one election cycle knows that the status of the administration regarding national issues may or may not affect the election of local representatives, but history says that it won't; Presidents usually have short coattails.

Sure, I have read how the Dems have got themselves in a pickle over the Iraq issue -- Morris, our own American Talleyrand wannabe, was spot-on here -- but I knew better than to draw conclusions about Congressional races from that. It might have an effect if it tips one or two doubtful seats, at most.
